AI credits, in plain language
How AI credits work
Ciciro's AI features run on credits. This page explains what a credit is, roughly how many each feature uses, and how far your plan goes each month. Writing itself never uses credits.
What a credit is
Every time Ciciro's AI reads your writing and answers, it costs a little to run. A credit is one cent of that cost. Small jobs, like finding a synonym, use a tiny part of a credit. Big jobs, like drafting a chapter, use more, because there is more to read and more to write.
So the same feature can cost a little more or less each time. A long chapter or a big story bible means more for Ciciro to read, and a longer answer means more to write.
What each plan gets
Free
50 credits a month
Up to 12 on any one day
Plus
200 credits a month
Up to 50 on any one day
Pro
400 credits a month
Up to 100 on any one day
Premium
600 credits a month
Up to 150 on any one day
Studio
2,000 credits a month
Up to 500 on any one day
Your credits start over every month on the day your plan renews. On Free, that is the day you signed up. Credits you don't use don't carry over to the next month.
What things cost
These are typical ranges, worked out from what each feature reads and writes. The counts show how many you could do in a month if you spent all your credits on that one thing. Most writers mix and match.

One request can use at most 100 credits. If a big job reaches that, Ciciro stops, keeps what it did, and you can send a follow-up to carry on.
What never uses credits
- Writing and editing your manuscript, notes and story bible.
- Exports, sync between your devices, and writing reminders.
- Listening to your chapters read aloud on the phone.
Chapter summaries and the “Previously on” recap are free too. They pause once your month's credits are used up.
The daily share
On Free, Plus, Pro, Premium and Studio, one day can use up to a quarter of your month's credits: 12 on Free, 50 on Plus, 100 on Pro, 150 on Premium, 500 on Studio. This keeps a whole month from going in one afternoon, for example if someone else got into your account. If you write with Ciciro every day, you are unlikely to notice it.
Each day's share starts over at the same time of day your month started over. Reaching it only pauses AI until then: the rest of your month's credits are still yours.
One thing at a time
Ciciro works on one AI request for your account at a time. If one is still running, maybe in another tab or on your phone, wait for it to finish and try again. Spelling fixes and synonyms never have to wait.
When you run out
- Chat, drafting and checks pause until your credits start over. Your manuscript, notes and story bible stay fully editable.
- If you run out in the middle of a reply or a draft, Ciciro stops there and keeps what it already wrote.
- If a request fails before Ciciro can answer, you get its credits back.
- Upgrading gives you the bigger plan's credits straight away. Moving from one paid plan to another keeps what you have used this month, counted against the new plan's credits. You can upgrade in Settings.
Seeing what you have left
Open Settings on the web or in the app. Under Plan you'll see how many credits you've used this month, out of how many, and the day they start over.
